Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly in talks over Alexis Sanchez, with the Gunners requesting Sergio Aguero be part of the deal to sign the 28-year-old. City are keen to keep him, however.

Manchester City are believed to have offered Raheem Sterling as part of a swap deal to sign Alexis Sanchez, but Arsenal want the Argentinean striker to come to the Emirates instead, reports allege.

The Sky Blues, however, want to keep Aguero at the club despite him losing his starting place to Gabriel Jesus in the last six months, with manager Pep Guardiola having said on a number of occasions last season that the 29-year-old will not leave.

Arsenal may be resigned to losing Alexis due to the pressure City are putting on the club with days of the summer transfer window remaining. The Chilean international has also reportedly asked to leave the national team camp to sort other commitments, which I feel could be a hint that he’s going to force his way out.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said he wants to keep the former Barcelona man at the club, but if City are offering cash + a player for his signature, it may be too hard to turn down – especially if Alexis’ body language hints that he wants out of the Emirates.
