Joel Campbell appears to be on his way back to Arsenal after going through knee surgery, with supporters excited by his potential return.

The Costa Rican is the forgotten man once again as nobody this summer has bothered to ask where he is or what he’s been up to.

The 25-year-old was on loan at Sporting Lisbon last season before taking part in the Gold Cup with Costa Rica. However, a knee injury ruled him out of the tournament and required surgery.

Campbell now appears to be returning to England after tweeting an imagine of him on a plane and a set of emojis, reports The Sun. Arsenal fans took his tweet to mean that he was on his way back to the club, and have asked him to ‘save’ the club.

Campbell, though, may end up disappointing people as he surely has no future at the club, I fear. Arsenal have several attackers in their first team squad and had to loan out Campbell due to being unable to give him first-team football last season.

The situation hasn’t changed much and Campbell didn’t do a great deal while on loan, either. I believe he’ll be leaving the club before the transfer window comes to a close.
