Nice defender, Dalbert, has officially signed for Inter Milan.

Dalbert, who has been linked with Arsenal since June, was always tipped to join Inter but now it’s been made official.

The left-back has signed for the Serie A club for a reported £18m (€20m) on a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old only joined Nice from Vitória de Guimarães in 2016 but went on to make 40 appearances for them across all competitions, including two this season before signing for Inter.

The Brazilian was described as one of Ligue 1’s most ‘interesting’ left-backs by Inter’s official statement on their website, as well as one of Nice’s key players last term.

Whether Arsenal were ever actually interested in Dalbert we may never know.

By the time the Gunners were linked with the defender, they’d already signed Sead Kolasinac and while Kieran Gibbs is rumoured to be on his way out this summer, the links with the former Nice man have been so quiet that there doesn’t seem to be much weight behind them.

Dalbert is the French club’s fourth big summer signing after they acquired Milan Skriniar from Sampdoria, and Borja Valero and Matias Vecino from Fiorentina.

Nice finished third in Ligue 1 last term, nine points behind PSG in second and a whopping 17 behind champions Monaco. Therefore, they’re obviously taking steps in order to be more competitive this season.

They lost their opening league game of the season 1-0 against Saint-Étienne on Saturday.
