Arsenal have paid tribute to Gabriel following his £10m move to Valencia on Friday.

Arsenal have hailed Gabriel for his heroic performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last season.

Was this #Gabriel's best game for #Arsenal?

The Brazilian flourished as part of Arsene Wenger’s new 3-4-3 formation and was a force to be reckoned with during that match in particular, which the Gunners won 2-1 despite the odds.

It wasn’t just the centre-back’s best display in red and white; no doubt that match will go down as one of the best of his career.

Gabriel signed for Arsenal from Villarreal in January 2015 and while he struggled to really secure a place in the starting XI, making just 46 appearances in the Premier League in total, he really pulled it out the bag during his final months as a Gunner.

The feisty defender will also most likely be remembered for his on-pitch beef with Diego Costa in September 2015. Arsenal may have lost 2-0 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge that day but at least we got to see Gabriel defending Laurent Koscielny after the Blues’ striker blatantly pushed him over.

Also, who could forget how Gabriel would celebrate when Arsenal scored? It was nearly on Nacho Monreal levels of jubilation.

Good luck, Gab.
