Arsenal loanees Cohen Bramall and Marc Bola featured in this week’s Carabao Cup games.

The second round of the Carabao Cup was played on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a couple of Arsenal’s loanees were involved.

Cohen Bramall, who joined Birmingham on Monday, played 78 minutes as a left wing-back in City’s 2-1 loss to Bournemouth. Bramall was said to have had a positive showing. He was subbed due to a knock but should be okay to play this weekend.

The only other loanee to play was Marc Bola. He started at right-back and played 90 minutes as Bristol Rovers upset Fulham at Craven Cottage. It was his first appearances for Rovers, albeit in an unfamiliar position.

Carl Jenkinson, who had also joined Birmingham on Monday, was left out their matchday squad and is presumably still building up fitness after a lack of games during pre-season.

Birmingham are at home to Reading this Saturday, where Bramall and Jenkinson could make their league debuts. Bristol Rovers, meanwhile, are at home to Fleetwood Town.

As for our other loanees, Stephy Mavididi’s Preston face a difficult trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday. On Sunday, Emi Martinez will be hoping to make his Getafe debut as they host Sevilla. Takuma Asano will likely feature in Stuttgart’s game against Mainz on Saturday.
