Arsenal are reportedly joining the race for Tottenham target Davinson Sanchez.

Tottenham are yet to make any big moves in the transfer market this summer, other than the high-profile sale of Kyle Walker, and their fans are starting to grow concerned over whether a signing will happen at all.

One of the players that they have been linked to in the last couple of weeks is Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, who is 21 years old and plays as a centre-back.

Considering his position in the team, Sanchez did surprisingly well last season in an attacking sense, scoring six goals and providing two assists in his 32 league appearances for Ajax.

Primarily though, he is a defensive player, and was part of the backline that conceded the fewest goals in the Eredivisie, despite coming second overall to Feyenoord.

All this was reportedly enough to get Tottenham interested, but according to Football.London,Spurs’ London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested.

There were rumours that a deal with Tottenham was almost done but the report claims this isn’t in fact the case.

Arsenal certainly looked short at the back as the season got underway, with the three goals conceded to Leicester, without many of the team’s first choice options unavailable.

When Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi are back, they are likely to take two of the three positions without question. There will be plenty of competition for the third spot, howeve, potentially opening the door to Sanchez.
