Arsenal have reportedly been alerted to Julian Draxler’s ‘situation’ at Paris Saint-Germain given that the winger allegedly wants to leave.

Despite only signing for PSG from Wolfsburg for £35m in January and impressing since the move, the French media claim that Draxler isn’t happy with PSG’s transfer activity and wants to leave. Now that Neymar has signed for a world record fee and Kylian Mbappe is potentially coming on board, the German allegedly believes he’ll be pushed out.

This means that long-term admirer, Arsene Wenger, has been alerted to the idea that the 23-year-old may be looking for a new club, claims French outlet, Le10Sport [via talkSPORT].

The Ligue 1 giants are said to be aiming to recoup at least £35m, which is handy considering Arsenal should have between £35m – £40m from Chelsea for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain soon.

Wenger has been a fan of Draxler for a while, so while I have no doubt that there was interest there at once stage, I’m not sure if there still is. Plus, there’s the small issue of the Germany international actually wanting to sign for Arsenal.

His agent, Roger Wittmann, claims he doesn’t.

“We are not interested in whether L’Equipe wrote something,” Wittmann said. “There has been no change, it is not a topic.

“If somebody writes ‘I have this information from Nasser Al-Khelaifi [PSG chairman and CEO],’ then I will consider it and call the president to speak about Julian’s situation.

“Once again, though, this is not the case. So, everything has been said.”

Draxler made 25 appearances for PSG last season, scored 10 goals and assisted three.
