Arsenal are reported to have had a bid rejected by Borussia Dortmund for French winger Ousmane Dembele.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners have failed with an offer for Dembele, a player also attracting the interest of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Howe much Arsenal are believed to have offered Dortmund for Dembele is unknown, however. The player arrived at the Westfalenstadion on a five-year deal and figures in excess of £70m have been mentioned as an asking price this summer.

Arsenal are keen on the 20-year-old as they’re set to lose Alexis Sanchez in the next 12 months. Dembele may cost a princely sum to sign for another club this summer, but Dortmund have no desire to sell.

The winger, who signed from Rennes in 2016, scored and created 18 goals in 22 Bundesliga starts last season. He contributed eight goals in 10 Champions League games too.

Dembele’s goalscoring and creative exploits will attract Arsenal’s attention as they will need to replace the goals when Alexis finally leaves the club this summer or next. But they will have competition for his services.

He was one of the best players in the French leagues, now one of the most exciting talents in the German league. But Dembele could now be set for a big European move if the price is right.
