Arsenal reportedly claim as of this morning that they’ve not received a formal bid from Manchester City.

Contrary to the Mirror reporting that City have offered Arsenal Raheem Sterling plus cash in exchange for Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners claim that they’ve not received a formal bid at this point in time.

The phrase no ‘formal’ bid suggests that there has been contract made and, as Olley says, this seems likely to change before the transfer window shuts on Thursday night. However, this doesn’t confirm whether Arsenal will be getting a lump sum or a player-plus-cash deal.

Manchester United have also allegedly enquired about the Chilean.

After the 28-year-old’s display against Liverpool during Arsenal’s 4-0 loss on Sunday, most Gooners have made their peace with him leaving and just want the club to hurry up and do business.

Arsenal are also said to have agreed a transfer fee with Chelsea over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the Blues reportedly willing to pay £35m for the 24-year-old.

Both Alexis and the Ox have under a year left on their current contracts and neither wants to stay, so selling them as soon as possible so we can at least try and replace them might give Arsenal fans something to cling onto over the international break.
