Alexis Sanchez returns for Arsenal v Liverpool clash as Philippe Coutinho stays sidelined

Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp have both delivered their latest team news ahead of the Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal should only be without Joel Campbell (knee) and Santi Cazorla (ankle) for the trip to Liverpool this weekend.

Alexis Sanchez has now returned from his abdominal problem and is set to back in the squad for the Premier League game.

“He works very hard, focused and gives absolutely everything,” the boss said.

“He loves to play so much that is is sometimes difficult to stop him but he looks absolutely ready. he has not played for a long time so I will have to decide what I do with him but he looks ready to play.”

On whether he’ll definitely play, Wenger said, “I will have to make that decision. It is Thursday today and we play on Sunday and he looks in good shape, he has worked very hard.”

Laurent Koscielny meanwhile returns from the three-match suspension he was serving as a result of a stupid challenge he committed during the Gunners’ final Premiership match last season against Everton.

Klopp revealed during his press conference on Friday afternoon that his side is still without Philippe Coutinho. The 25-year-old, who reportedly handed in a transfer request recently and has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, is said to still be ill.

“He’s on our injury list – that hasn’t changed,” Klopp said.

Gini Wijnaldum will be available on Sunday after his wife gave birth to their child.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Emre Can have minor injuries so might be out.

Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring), Ádám Bogdán (knee), Danny Ings (fitness) and Adam Lallana (thigh) could also be out.
