Yaya Sanogo is reportedly moving closer to a deal with Ligue 1 side, Toulouse.

  • Sanogo released by Arsenal
  • Striker moving closer to Toulouse move
  • 24-year-old only scored once for Gunners in 20 appearances
  • Was loaned out three times

Sanogo, who was released by Arsenal at the beginning of the summer, is reportedly set to sign for Toulouse very soon.

According to L’Equipe [via France Football] the 24-year-old could have a new club by the weekend.

Sanogo signed for Arsenal from Auxerre in 2013 on a free and went on to get loaned out three times to Crystal Palace, Ajax, and Charlton. However, none of these were particularly successful and he struggled for goals at all three – not good for a striker.

During his four years as an Arsenal player, between loan spells, the Frenchman only scored once for the Gunners in 20 appearances. To be fair, this was against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, so he’s probably still pleased about that.

Hopefully, Sanogo can sign for a team that’ll give him some more playing time.
