Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly been told by Arsene Wenger that his services are no longer needed.

According to the Daily Star, Wilshere looks set to leave Arsenal this summer after being made available for transfer. The English international spent last season on loan with Bournemouth but failed to show the Gunners he’s worth retaining.

Wilshere’s contract expires in 12 months and the London club have no signs to renew his deal beyond 2018. It means clubs can pursue the talented playmaker at their free will ahead of the new season and Arsenal will let him go for the right price.

Italian Serie A side Sampdoria are the only club believed to have made a bid for the 25-year-old. However, their £6m + £1.5 in bonuses offer was rejected by Arsenal. West Ham United have been linked with Wilshere and may yet make an official approach.

The Arsenal academy graduate made 27 Premier League appearance for Bournemouth last season, with just two assists. His time on the South Coast ended prematurely with a hairline fracture in April.
