Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is believed to have decided his next move, with his exit from the Emirates looking inevitable this summer.

According to the Independent, Wilshere wants to join West Ham United due to his keenness to stay in London. The England international looks nailed on to depart Arsenal ahead of the new season due to stiff competition for a starting place.

His current deal expires in 12 months and it’s unknown if there’s a new contract on the table. Wilshere spent last season on loan with Bournemouth but failed to show Arsene Wenger what he was missing out on given his lack of goal output and eventual hairline fracture that ended his campaign in April.

Despite this, there’s plenty of interest in the 25-year-old. Italian Serie A side Sampdoria made a bid of around £7m for his services, which was quickly rejected. Turkish outfit Antalyaspor have been linked. West Ham spoke about a potential deal too.

The latter, however, said their midfield was an area that didn’t need strengthening which is bad news for Wilshere, a boyhood supporter who would have been keen on the move.

He’s situation in London too, which therefore limits the upheaval for his family, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be joining Slaven Bilic’s men any time soon.
