With Alexandre Lacazette set to complete his £52m move from Lyon to Arsenal any day now, what are the odds of the striker winning the Premier League Golden Boot next season?
- Arsenal fans hail Wenger for Lacazette signing
- Lacazette to become highest paid Arsenal player, will fly out late for Sydney tour
- Arsenal close in on Mahrez as Lacazette completes medical
- Lyon striker sixth most likely to win Golden Boot
Lacazette is set to become an Arsenal player next season and after earning himself the best conversion rate in Europe at Lyon (38.9%), Gooners are pretty excited to see what the 26-year-old can bring the Gunners’ attacking line-up.
The France international scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season and while the Premiership is in a different league (quite literally) to Ligue 1, the striker is expected to hit the ground running.
With this in mind, we looked at the odds of Lacazette winning the Golden Boot, i.e. scoring the most goals in the Premier League, next season.
The Daily Star claim that the Frenchman is 6/1 to win the award, ahead of Liverpool’s injury-prone forward, Daniel Sturridge (20/1), and even Arsenal star, Alexis Sanchez (10/1).
In fact, Lacazette is the sixth most likely to win it, according to the odds.
Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero is at 5/1 and Tottenham’s Harry Kane is favourite at 11/4.
