Watford have now reportedly become odd-on favourites to sign Kieran Gibbs.

Watford have moved into pole position when it comes to signing Gibbs this summer.

West Brom were previously the bookies’ favourites to land the left-back after he got left in London while the rest of the Arsenal squad flew off on their pre-season tour of Australia and China. However, according to the Hertfordshire Mercury, the Hornets have now moved into the lead after Tony Pulis made it clear that the Baggies will not be pursuing the defender.

The admission came shortly after the Gunners allegedly turned down a £10m bid.

Watford were said to have been put off previously by the 27-year-old’s £16m price tag.

Gibbs has just one year left on his Arsenal contract and it’s looking unlikely that they’ll offer him a new deal any time soon.

Newcastle and Southampton have also been linked.
