Reports emerged at the end of last week that Alexis Sanchez was in Paris to agree personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, but was he?

PSG have been heavily linked with a move for Alexis this week with the Chilean being rumoured to be in the French capital to discuss terms on Friday.

The Guardian, as well as most of the British and French press, claim that Alexis and his agent, Fernando Felicevich, spent Friday afternoon with Antero Henrique, PSG’s sporting director at Royal Monceau hotel.

The claims all seem to have stemmed from this tweet.

The only problem, allegedly, is that PSG want Alexis to sign a four-year deal and he only wants three.

The Ligue 1 giants are even said to have agreed personal terms with the forward, despite Arsenal not appearing to grant permission for any talks to take place. In fact, Arsene Wenger is still adamant that Alexis isn’t moving this summer.

Interestingly, just 19 hours before the ‘news’ broke, the 28-year-old was in Chile.

Now, while flying from Chile to Paris in that space of time is possible in a private jet, it would be cutting it pretty fine.

Add to this the fact that Wenger insists that the rumours linking Alexis with PSG are just ‘imagination’ and it seems as if the forward wasn’t actually in France at all…

It’s also worth remembering that he’d also reportedly ‘agreed terms’ with Manchester City just weeks ago as well as Bayern Munich at the beginning of the summer.
