Robert Pires has been quite the chatterbox when it comes to reported Arsenal target, Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, recently.

Although Pires’s most recent comments are similar to his previous ones, they reiterate how highly he rates 21-year-old Lemar.

“I love Lemar. He played very well last season with Monaco in the Champions League,” the former Invincible said.

“He is a young player with good technique, a good left foot, he can do a good cross and score good goals.

“For me, he has a very good profile to play for Arsenal.”

Arsenal’s reported move for Lemar appears to have gone cold. The winger has joined the rest of the squad for their pre-season and the last update was that the Gunners had returned to Monaco with a third bid of £45m, despite the Ligue 1 side allegedly wanting over £50m. After this, everything went quiet.

Monaco are keen to keep hold of their players and since Arsenal don’t appear to be the strongest negotiators in the Premier League, it doesn’t appear to be going well. If talks are even happening in the first place, of course.

Oh well. At least Pires ‘loves’ him.
