Alexis Sanchez’s agent has offered him to Real Madrid, but neither the club nor the player are particularly interested in a move.

Ok Diario claim that in trying to find an option for Alexis so he can leave Arsenal and play Champions League football, he’s even turned to the bitter rivals of Alexis’ former club Barcelona.

Real Madrid are believed to have turned the player down as they didn’t want to disrupt the front three of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

To make the potential deal even less likely, Alexis himself apparently wasn’t interested in what he saw as a betrayal of his loyalty to Barcelona, but with his agent hoping to find potential bidders to drive up his price he went ahead with the offer anyway.

How much we can rely on these reports is up for debate, but ultimately the conclusion is the same: Real Madrid are very unlikely to make any sort of move for Alexis.

With Bayern also ruling themselves out, it seems finding a club that could challenge for the Champions League next season would be a very difficult proposition.

This is good news for the Gunners, as Alexis’ only public comments that suggest he wants to leave were those about wanting to win the Champions League. Realistically, most of the clubs he could still go to can’t do that.
