Real Madrid may attempt to sign Chelsea’s Eden Hazard if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe.

  • Real Madrid’s top target is Mbappe
  • However, the 18-year-old has doubts about playing time
  • Hazard is seen as a back-up option

Arsenal-target Mbappe is believed be Madrid’s top target this summer and the Spaniards are willing to pay a world record fee to sign him. However, Mbappe has concerns about how much playing time he’d get with so much great attacking talent already at Madrid.

It was such a concern that Arsenal hoped would give them an advantage during their own attempts to sign the striker. According to Don Balon, Madrid could turn to Eden Hazard if they can’t sign Mbappe.

Why they would sign a winger after failing to sign a striker is unclear, but it’s believed that Hazard has the quality to be considered a “Galactico” signing, boosting the Real Madrid brand and beign extremely marketable and therefore a smart business move.

The La Liga and Champions League holders have long been linked with Hazard’s signature and may consider moving Cristiano Ronaldo as a no.9 to fit Hazard into the side. They were also linked with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez earleir this summer.
