Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s delay in his contract negotiations isn’t anything to do with money, according to latest reports.

The 23-year-old is one of many players in and around the first-team at Arsenal with a contract close to expiring. Wojciech Szczęsny has already left the club. while Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil have had speculation around their futures all summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has joined them in the headlines every week after he ended last season strongly and reportedly drew interest from clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea. Now the Mirror has claimed the delay in signing a new deal is purely to do with his ambition and not getting a big pay rise.

Regardless, a move will be hard to come by for the Ox, as Wenger has made it very clear the England international will stay at Arsenal until the end of his contract. Chelsea and Liverpool aren’t going to give up their pursuit lightly, but the Gunners aren’t budging.
