Oxlade-Chamberlain was named in Arsenal’s 25-man squad for this summer’s pre-season tour, but his future is still far from resolved.

The 23-year-old made the squad which headed off to Sydney on Sunday night, despite the speculation about his future. Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with the Ox in recent weeks, with Metro recently reporting the interest of both clubs.

His deal expires in 2018, and so, as with the likes of Özil, Alexis and Wilshere, the club will be looking to get some sort of clarity on his future over the coming month or two.

In 2016/17 Chamberlain had one of his best seasons for the Gunners. He made 45 appearances, a strong showing for a player previously troubled by injuries. From those appearances, he scored six goals and added 11 assists.

It would be a shame to see the player leave just as he starts to come into his own, so Arsenal fans will be hoping this decision to join the team on tour is a sign of his commitment to the club.
