Olivier Giroud is expected to make a decision on his Arsenal future in the coming days, with a host of clubs interested in his signature this summer.

  • Giroud prefers to stay at Arsenal, but could ask to leave if not guaranteed playing time
  • His future is in doubt with Lacazette signing imminent
  • Marseille and Lyon are interested in bringing him back to France

With players returning from their summer holidays and pre-season soon underway, significant movement in the transfer window is expected.

One such move could involve Giroud, who, as we’ve reported throughout June, could be looking to leave if he’s not assured of more playing time at Arsenal next season.

The 30-year-old is no longer commanding a starting place and Alexandre Lacazette’s imminent arrival will further limit his playing time next season.

According to Sport, Giroud will make a decision about his future in the coming days. Although his preference would be to stay at Arsenal, he is said to be open to returning to France.

Marseille reportedly made an improved bid recently, while Lyon are also interested despite president Jean-Michael Aulas admitting a deal would be difficult.

There’s also domestic interest in Giroud from Everton and West Ham. But Arsene Wenger has praised the striker, saying he possess qualities that Arsenal need, but may not stand in his way should he decide to leave.
