Kelechi Nwakali’s advisor, Allwell Nwakali, has confirmed that the midfielder will be training with Arsenal’s first team in pre-season this summer.

Nwakali‘s advisor has revealed that the 19-year-old is excited about joining Arsenal’s first team in pre-season training but admitted that the Nigeria u20 captain could go out on loan afterwards.

”He is going next week to London, either Wednesday or Thursday pending when the flight is confirmed,” Allwell Nwakali told allnigeriasoccer.com.

”Our target is for him to train with the first team of Arsenal in pre-season. They have invited us, so they have their plans for him.

”I am suspecting he’ll do pre-season with them so they will know his ability.

”Two things are involved, either they keep him at Arsenal and start fighting for his work permit or he goes on loan to a first division club.”

It not unusual for youth squad players to join the senior team for pre-season training and to even join them on the tour.

A fair amount of first team stars will be given a rest, especially the likes of Alexis Sanchez, who was involved in the Confederations Cup final against Germany.

Nwakali signed for Arsenal from Diamond Football Academy last year after winning the Golden Ball award for his performance in the 2015 u17 World Cup.

The teenager was sent out on loan to MVV Maastricht last season where he made a total of 34 appearances, scored three goals and bagged himself four assists.
