With Alexandre Lacazette’s £46m transfer from Lyon to Arsenal sealed, the Gunners will now turn their attentions to Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

That’s according to former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys who believes the Algerian international is next on the Arsenal wishlist this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with Mahrez for two years, having targeted him after his outstanding 2015/16 campaign that saw him the PFA Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year as Leicester won the Premier League title.

The 26-year-old scored and created 28 goals in 37 league games that season and has followed it up with 17 goals scored and created in all competitions in 2016/17.

While a considerable dip in form, Arsenal are still keen to take a punt on Mahrez for a fee believed to be £35m this summer, and his arrival would likely mean Theo Walcott is shown the exit door.

Should Arsene Wenger scrap his 3-4-2-1 system, Alexis Sanchez and Mahrez would likely operate on opposing flanks, given license to cut inside on their stronger foot.

There should be more developments in the coming days.
