Lucas Perez’s agent has reportedly flown to London to encourage Arsenal to allow his client to leave.

Lucas’s agent, Rodrigo Fernandez, has made no secret of his frustration over Arsenal taking their time over his client’s exit and now he’s allegedly flown to London to try and speed up a move.

Lucas is unhappy with his lack of playing time in north London after signing for the Gunners from Deportivo one year ago for £17m.

While the 28-year-old admittedly wasn’t given much of a chance to prove himself under Arsene Wenger, he was also sidelined for 82 days with injuries, which should as least partially explain why he had so little time on the pitch. While he wasn’t injured the entire time, it’s still a little confusing as to why the Spaniard feels as hard done by as he does.

Now that Wenger has extended his contract with Arsenal by two years, Lucas doesn’t see his situation changing. In fact, with the addition of Alexandre Lacazette, he’s probably fallen even further down the pecking order, which has apparently made him desperate to leave.

Everton and West Ham, as well as former club Deportivo, have all been linked, with his former club said to have offered him a 10-year deal.

Arsenal are reportedly holding out for between £9m – £11m.

Lucas made 21 appearances for the Gunners last season, scoring seven goals and assisting five, which means that he had a direct influence on 12 goals.

What’s more impressive is that he only played for 948 minutes. Therefore, he contributed to a goal every 79 minutes – not bad at all.

While Arsenal didn’t give him the chance he probably deserved, him leaving isn’t exactly the most ridiculous move in the world.
