Juventus had a bid rejected for Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi, a player Arsenal have been closely linked with.

  • Matuidi is in the final year of his contract
  • He reportedly wants to leave
  • Arsenal and Manchester United are both interested

The French midfielder is entering the final year of his contract and apparently looking to leave the Parc de Prince this summer. Juventus have reportedly had a £13m bid rejected by Paris Saint-Germain, according to The Sun.

Matuidi is said to be a target for both Arsenal and Manchester United. Arsenal could be on the lookout for a Santi Cazorla replacement this summer with the Spaniard’s injury problems potentially long term. While Matuidi is a very different type of midfielder, his energy and work rate could be a useful addition in the Gunners’ engine room.

Moreover, with the player’s contract running down, he could be a cheaper and more attainable target than many other players Arsenal have been linked with. PSG, however, want to keep hold of Matuidi and have offered him a new deal.
