Alex Iwobi was pleased with Arsenal’s penalty shoot-out win against Bayern Munich.

The Nigerian international came off the bench to score a late equaliser and take the game to a penalty shoot-out, which Arsenal won 3-2.

Emi Martinez was the hero of the shoot-out, saving two penalties to give Arsenal the “win”.

After the match, Iwobi tweeted:

Arsenal had a difficult game as several players were suffering with food poisoning. They had also trained incredibly hard in near 40 degree Celsius heat over the last two days.

Bayern were the sharper team and put Arsenal under a lot of pressure in the first half. Arsenal, though, hung in there, kept the score down and levelled it right at the death.

Iwobi played a vital part in that. He came on at half-time and, as always, looked to be positive on the ball and take players on.

It was his determination to win the ball back in midfield and drive up the pitch that created the chance that he eventually finished with a good header into the bottom corner.

Iwobi is having a good pre-season and will look to continue to impress in hopes of being in the starting line-up next season.
