Inter Milan are reportedly set to win the race to sign Nice defender, Dalbert, despite apparent interest from Arsenal.

Dalbert has allegedly asked to leave Nice this summer and although both Inter and Arsenal are said to have been interested in signing the 23-year-old, it seems that the Serie A club has come out on top.

According to TMW [via talkSPORT], the left-back’s move to Italy is set to be ‘tied up’ by the end of the week.

Inter are reportedly paying £17m plus bonuses for the Brazilian, who still has four years left on his deal with Nice.

Back in June, the French team reportedly received a ‘big offer’ for the left-back, which was said to be around £13.1m – far less than what Inter are apparently ready to pay. However, other than this, the links with Arsenal have quietened down, with later reports from Italy claiming that the player wasn’t interested in a move to north London.

Liverpool were also said to be interested.

Last season, Dalbert made 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, racking up four assists across all competitions.

The defender signed for Nice from Vitória de Guimarães last year after making 25 appearances during the season he was there. Before that, he played for Portuguese club, Académico de Viseu F.C..

Dalbert played for Flamengo as a youngster.
