Inter Milan are considering making a £44.7m bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to reports. Arsenal aren’t expected to renew their interest.

The Chilean midfielder, commonly linked with Arsenal before his switch to Bayern, has not been making any friends in North London this summer. He spent most of the Confederations Cup telling anyone who would listen that he was trying to convince Alexis Sanchez to come and join him at Bayern Munich.

Fortunately for supporters, this effort was entirely unsuccessful, and Ancelotti has since ruled Bayern out of any move for Alexis. However, Vidal himself is now being linked with a return to Italy, having previously spent four years with Juventus.

Calciomercato claim the target on top of Inter’s list is 25-year-old Matias Vecino but will enquire about Vidal if they can’t complete his signing.

After his performances in the Confederations Cup, Vidal isn’t a player Ancelotti will want to lose. But a big bid may prove too good to turn down. Arsenal aren’t keen to match Inter it seems.
