Fenerbahce are still optimistic that they can seal a deal for Lucas Perez despite not being the Spaniard’s first choice.

That’s according to a report by NtvSpor who claim the Turks want to add at least two forwards ahead of the new season.

Lucas apparently has an offer from Fener and the club are waiting on his decision. His first choice, unsurprisingly, is a return to Spain and, preferably, a time machine so he can sign the 7-year deal he was offered to stop him joining Arsenal.

Fenerbahce have already made it clear that they cannot afford the fee Arsenal are asking for the player and are trying to get a loan deal instead.

Although Lucas suffered a number of injuries last season, he playing time was further impinged by Arsene Wenger’s reluctance to use him anyway.

Eight goals in 22 Premier League games tell only a fraction of what is a very weird story.
