RB Leipzig winger doesn’t understand the uproar surrounding speculation about his future.

The Sweden international has been linked with Arsenal this summer, as well Manchester United and AC Milan. Leipzig, though, were quick to rule out any sale and speculation about Forsberg’s future has been dead since.

The player himself is happy to stay at Leipzig, and has confessed that he didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Asked by German publication Kicker if Leipzig fans should be unhappy with him, he said:

“Have I said anything bad about Leipzig? I have always spoken positively about RB so I don’t understand the uproar,” reports Inside Futbol.

“For me, everything is good and I am fully motivated and focused and want to have an even better season than the last with RB.”

Players often have to be careful about what they say to the media during a transfer window, as anything could set off a ton of speculation. Hence it’s quite refreshing to read a player being so bullish about the whole thing.

It seems as far as Forsberg is concerned, he hasn’t offended anyone, so there’s no issue. Of course, knowing how the media can twists thing, it can be more helpful to not say anything at all.

Forsberg managed 17 assists for Leipzig last season, helping them to a second place finish in the Bundesliga. He’ll be one of the most keenly watched players in this season’s Champions League.

Should he have another great season, the big clubs will come knocking again. He could be more receptive to a move next summer.
