Deportivo have offered Lucas Perez a 10-year contract to try and tempt the forward back home.

AS report that Lucas’s former club have presented him with an ‘unprecedented’ offer and it is really something quite special, especially when you remember they offered him a seven-year deal to say no to Arsenal in the first place.

They also propose that the player remains at the club as their technical secretary when he retires from playing.

Galician paper, DXT Campeon, reports that the club president, Tino Fernandez, has put the offer to Lucas while they negotiate with Arsenal over his fee.

AS believe that a fee between €10m and €12m should get the job done.

Knowing Lucas’ love for his former club it’s hard to see how he could say no to an offer like this even though it would require him to take a pay cut. Contracted to Arsenal until 2020, Lucas would earn the same amount of money at Deportivo as he would at Arsenal, but it would be spread out over a longer period of time.

He has not had the best of years at Arsenal, to say the least.

Yes, he was handsomely rewarded for his time in London but he endured going from a club where he was adored and idolised to one where he couldn’t even get on the bench.

Arsenal fans took to him, despite his limited appearances. He was a player who gave everything anytime he got a chance, and one that fans couldn’t quite understand what the manager was doing with him.

Still, when a club wants you THIS much compared to one that doesn’t seem to want you at all, it would be hard to say no. And nobody would blame him.
