A report alleged that a number of photographers appeared at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground in anticipation for Alexandre Lacazette, but it appears to be fake news.

A tweet was making the rounds that suggested a number of photographers were waiting to get a snap of the striker when he touches down in London, but it was a hoax created by a scholar’s photoshoot.

The French international, who currently plays for Olympique Lyonnais, is expected to arrive in the capital today to finalise terms on a £52m deal.

Lacazette has been linked with Arsenal for many years but now the rumours will be made true when his announcement is officially confirmed.

The 26-year-old scored 28 goals in 30 games for Lyon last season. He looked on his way to Atletico Madrid earlier this summer before a transfer ban put Arsenal back in the frame.

Supporters are anxiously waiting for the news that the deal is done as many fear the speculation could still potentially be untrue. His signing is expected to be confirmed officially by the club later today or tomorrow.
