Deportivo La Coruna President Tino Fernandez has stated that it would be difficult to bring Lucas Perez back to the Estadio Riazor.

Having just given up his shirt number to Alexandre Lacazette, as well as his place in the pre-season squad, Lucas Perez continues to be linked with a move away from the Gunners.

Former club Deportivo La Coruna are believed to be interested and president Fernandez confirmed they made contact with Arsenal over a possible return, reports Sportsmole.

“We’ve spoken to Arsenal, we were interested and we informed them of that, although it’s true that that was days ago and other things have happened since then, like the fact that he will not be with the team for a few games,” he said. “The possibility of a return to Depor? It’s remote.”

Lucas has a clause in his contract that allows Deportivo first refusal, according to his agent, so they’ll be the first club that Arsenal negotiate with before moving onto other options.

But if they don’t come to an agreement, there will likely be other clubs that are interested in a man who managed eight goals and six assists in just 22 appearances last season, many of which came from the bench.
