Barcelona are reportedly powerless over signing Hector Bellerin unless the right-back forces a move away from Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal have told Barcelona in no uncertain terms that they will not be selling Bellerin.

There were earlier reports that the Gunners were demanding £44m for the 22-year-old but it appears that Arsene Wenger has refused to play ball with the Catalan giants and has point-blank refused to sell Bellerin.

As a result, according to Spanish outlet, Marca, the La Liga club’s only hope of obtaining the young Spaniard this summer is to hope that he forces a move away from north London after he only just signed a new six-year deal with Arsenal at the end of 2016.

While Bellerin’s personal situation has changed and his family, who he’s close to, have returned to Barcelona, it’s thought that the defender won’t force a move away from a club that’s given him so many opportunities.

story trackerAt Arsenal, Bellerin has become one of the strongest right-backs in the world at the age of 22 and he knows this.

When he extended his deal, he spoke about repaying Wenger’s faith in him, and, no matter what the circumstances are, the chances of that changing are slim.

Therefore, while he’s more open to a move back to Barca than he was a few months ago, it doesn’t look as if he’s going anywhere if the Gunners don’t want him to.
