Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri, is training by himself ‘at home’ ahead of a potential move to Roma.

Seri, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal earlier in the summer, is training at home despite the rest of the Nice squad returning for pre-season training.

According to the Ligue 1 club’s manager, Lucien Favre, the 25-year-old is set to return ‘soon’ and won’t be punished for training at home.

“He’ll join up with us soon,” Favre told reporters outside the training camp.

“For the moment he’s training at home and neither I or the club will punish him. It wouldn’t help anyone.”

The midfielder is set to be signing for Roma this summer after an impressive 2016/17 season with Nice in which he scored seven goals and assisted nine in 34 league appearances.

The Serie A team were initially said to be unwilling to meet the player’s €40m release clause.

Seri only signed for Nice from Paços de Ferreira two years ago and has a contract until 2019.

According to Squawka, the Ivorian has an average pass accuracy rating of 90%.
