Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on long-term Tottenham target, Ross Barkley, despite the midfielder recently undergoing surgery.

Barkley has just one year left on his current deal with Everton and Spurs are expected to pounce this summer.

The Toffees are said to be demanding £50m but this figure is expected to plummet the closer we get to deadline day (August 31).

In fact, according to the Evening Standard, this amount could half.

With this in mind, Arsenal are reportedly lurking in hope that they could nab the England international despite him recently undergoing groin surgery and therefore being set to miss on the next four weeks of football.

The Gunners have been linked with Barkley before. However, the 23-year-old is a long-term target of Mauricio Pochettino.

The attacking midfielder is apparently open to a move and has refused to extend his deal at Everton.

Last season, Barkley made 39 appearances across all competitions, scoring six and assisting nine. He’s also been capped 22 times for England and scored twice.
