Arsenal reacted quickest in comparison to their rivals for Alexandre Lacazette, once it became clear his proposed move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid fell through.

That’s according to recent reports which state the Gunners, notorious for reacting slowly in the transfer market and missing out on a range of good deals, beat both Premier League rivals Manchester United and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund to the Frenchman’s signature.

Lacazette, 26, has been linked with a move away from Ligue 1 side Lyon for a few seasons now. His prolific goalscoring record has continued to improve whilst Lyon themselves have stagnated domestically. Despite making the Europa League semi-finals last season, it’s become evident he needs a move to reach his true potential

At the time news broke of the deal to Atletico Madrid breaking down, United were keen to wait and look at other attacking options while Dortmundwere preoccupied trying to sort out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future.
