After missing out on Dani Alves, Manchester City are desperate for a new right back this summer.

  • City have no recognised right backs after releasing Zabaleta and Sagna
  • They wanted Dani Alves, but he’s joined PSG
  • They’ve had interest in Hector Bellerin

City are currently in the market for a right back following the release of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna. They currently have no recognised right-backs in their first-team squad and were hoping to sign Dani Alves on a free transfer to fill the gap.

However, Alves snubbed them to join PSG instead, leaving City short of options. It could force them to renew their interest in Hector Bellerin. Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the right back and has attempted to sign the Spaniard for City before.

Arsenal are in a very strong position when it comes to Bellerin, however. With the player signed up to a long-term deal, they can demand a colossal fee from City should they come calling again.

Arsenal have already fended off Barcelona this summer, and will hope now that Bellerin can concentrate on playing for Arsenal next season.
