With Riyad Mahrez reportedly set to sign for Arsenal for around £35m this week, Gooners have been voicing their opinions on their potential summer addition… and they seem pretty underwhelmed.

Despite Mahrez winning Leicester’s player of the season during the Foxes’ 2015/16 title winning campaign, it appears that plenty of Arsenal fans aren’t too impressed with Arsene Wenger’s reported new acquisition.

Last season, the winger scored 10 goals and assisted seven in 48 appearances compared to 18 goals and 10 assists the term before. And this second season slump is what appears to be making most Gooners underwhelmed by the prospect of signing him.

Arsenal were linked with Mahrez last summer but Leicester, having just won the Premier League, persuaded the 26-year-old to stay put and sign a new deal.

After finishing 12th last season, the Foxes have apparently given the Algeria international permission to leave, and Arsenal are allegedly happy to return for their man.

I’m personally far more positive about this potential signing than it seems a lot of Gooners. However, I do share the worry that someone valuable could be leaving if we’re spending £35m on him.
