Udinese central-midfielder Jakub Jankto has been linked with Arsenal and a host of other clubs, according to latest reports.

The 21-year-old has been eyed up by some of the top European clubs, according to the Daily Star, including Juventus, Roma, Inter Milan, PSG and Everton. Now the Gunners have entered the race for the Czech international.

Jakub spent the 2015/16 season on loan in Serie B, playing for Ascoli, impressing during that campaign with five goals and nine assists in 34 league appearances. He then went back to Udinese and had a similarly successful time in 2016/17, scoring five again and adding four assists in 29 appearances.

The Daily Star note that Jankto is under contract until 2021, and therefore the Italian club are under no pressure to sell, especially as he is still so young and therefore has time to wait and develop before making a big move.

We previously revealed that Jankto is an Arsenal fan which may boost their chances of signing him. The Gunners have been linked with a couple of central-midfielders in the last few days, as the rumours build of exits for Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny.

In addition, there have been unconfirmed reports of Jakub having a release clause of £6m, which would make him very affordable if true. However, at this stage it’s still too early to draw any conclusions.

Nevertheless, Arsenal signing such a creative midfielder would improve the squad. Fending off the likes of Juventus, Roma, Inter Milan, PSG and Everton won’t be an easy task.
