Arsenal could still sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, despite Manchester United leading the chase for his signature.

  • He could re-sign for United after he’s fully recovered
  • Arsenal were interested in signing him last summer

The Swedish striker is currently without a club after he was released from United following a knee injury. While it’s expected that Ibrahimovic will re-join United once he’s recovered, there is still a chance Arsenal could sign him.

Arsenal were said to be interested when he left PSG last summer, with reports of them preparing a two-year offer. With doubts over the futures of Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez, Ibrahimovic could be a good short-term option for Arsenal.

However, the Swede remains close to United and is recovering at their training ground. It’s believed that United remain his preferred choice once he regain full fitness in October.

It would be quite a coup for Arsenal given Ibrahimovic has won a host of trophies with Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
