Arsenal could sell Wojciech Szczesny, Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs to raise £45m.

  • Szczesny is close to joining Juventus for around £10m
  • Gibbs has been left behind by Arsenal ahead of possible transfer
  • Calum Chambers spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough

The club could raise further transfer funds by selling some of their fringe players this summer. According to reports, Szczesny, Gibbs and Chambers could be three of those players.

Szczesny has been consistently linked with Juventus this summer and is set to soon complete a move for around £10m. That would mean that Arsenal hope the sales of Gibbs and Chambers could raise a further £35m, which is probably overly ambitious.

Gibbs was left out of Arsenal’s squad that travelled to Australia and China with the expectations that he would find a new club. Watford, Stoke and Brighton have been the most heavily linked, but have previously been put off by his £15m price tag.

The future of Chambers is uncertain. He spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, making 26 appearances in all competitions and was expected to go on loan again next season.

This is the first report that suggested he could be sold. Several more players could be sold, such as Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Lucas Perez and Joel Campbell.
