Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Dutch teenager Joshua Zirkzee from Feyenoord.

  • It seems Arsenal have beaten Ajax to the striker
  • Reports from the Netherlands state he’s going to England

Away from the circus of first team transfer rumours, it seems Arsenal are conducting business as youth level as well.

Arsenal usually bring in a couple of young players from around Europe to beef up their youth squads, and according to Dutch site Soccer News, the Gunners are close to signing young Feyenoord striker Joshua Zirkzee.

The 16-year-old was interesting Ajax, but reports say that the Amsterdam club were unable to come to an agreement for him and that Zirkzee is now expected to join Arsenal.

Zirkzee originally came from ADO Den Haag’s academy, reportedly scoring 33 goals in 27 appearances for Feyenoord’s youth teams. He also represents the Netherlands at youth level. Should he sign, he’ll likely go into Arsenal’s U18 team.
