Arsenal and Crystal Palace are in negotiations for Calum Chambers.

  • Palace are hoping to sign Chambers
  • Arsenal rejected a £16m bid and want something closer to £25m

It seems the sale of Calum Chambers could be moving closer to completion. According to the Guardian, Arsenal and Crystal Palace are having discussions about the player and are hopeful that a compromise can be reached.

Arsenal rejected Palace’s initial bid of £16m and want a fee closer to £25m to ensure they make a profit off their original investment. New Palace manager Frank de Boer sees Chambers as the ideal ball playing defender for his three-man backline as he attempts to change Palace’s style of play.

Arsenal, meanwhile, don’t see a place for Chambers in their own back three and are hoping to sell a player that has struggled for first team football at Arsenal. He spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, playing 24 times.
