Arsenal supporters will be delighted to hear Alexandre Lacazette is arguably the fifth-best striker in Europe, bettered by nobody in the Premier League over the last few years.

The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in all competitions for Olympique Lyonnais last season, netting 20+ Ligue 1 goals for the third consecutive campaign to prove his pedigree.

But where does Lacazette rank for goals in the last four seasons?

In Ligue 1, he tops the charts with 91 goals, with Paris Saint-Germain Edinson Cavani second with 88. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is third with 83.

In the Premier League, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero is behind Lacazette with 87 goals. Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez are fourth and fifth in the table respectively.

In La Liga, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has 139 goals, Barcelona, Lionel Messi has 134 goals, but his teammate Luis Suarez has six less than Lacazette’s total with 85.

In the Bundesliga, Robert Lewandowski has six more goals than Lacazette with 97 goals for two Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has 85 goals at Dortmund.

In Serie A, Gonzalo Higuain has four more goals than Lacazette with 95 for Juventus and Napoli. There isn’t a player within 20 goals of the Argentine either.
