Alan Shearer has taken a dig at Paris Saint-Germain’s reported first bid of £35m for Alexis Sanchez.

PSG are reportedly set to offer Arsenal £35m for Alexis next week, which is pretty much the equivalent of a bag of penny sweets by today’s standards.

The rumoured sum is so insulting that even Newcastle legend, Shearer, took to Twitter to scoff, joking that the Ligue 1 giants only want the Chilean’s left foot.

He’s right though – if Leicester are demanding more than that for Riyad Mahrez, how much should Arsenal want for their top forward, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season?

Granted Alexis has just one year left on his current deal and Mahrez has three but you see where I’m coming from.

The 28-year-old is said to have agreed personal terms with PSG, despite Arsene Wenger vehemently denying that he’ll be going anywhere this summer.

Fortunately, Manchester City, who were said to be willing to cough up £50m for the ‘wantaway’ star seem to have backed off.
