Arsenal youngster, Chris Willock, has reportedly rejected a new deal with the Gunners in favour of a move to Benfica.

  • Willock’s contract runs out this month
  • Winger is currently in Portugal discussing deal with Benfica
  • 19-year-old appeared twice for Arsenal’s first team last season

Willock, who made two appearances for Arsenal’s first team last season totaling 25 minutes, has reportedly turned down the chance to carry on in north London past his contract, which runs out at the end of this month.

The Gunners apparently offered him new terms but the young player refused.

Instead, the 19-year-old winger has chosen to sign for Benfica.

In fact, the winger is apparently over in Portugal right now discussing terms.

The England u19 international has only ever played for Arsenal after joining the academy in 2003 when he was just five-years-old.

It’s a shame because Willock was a bright prospect. He made 19 Premier League 2 appearances last season, scoring three and assisting eight.

If the reports are true, however, good luck to him.

Dortmund have also been linked with the teenager.
