Aaron Ramsey’s contract expires in 2018, but there’s been little talk of a renewal.

  • Ramsey was happy that Arsene Wenger opted to renew with Arsenal
  • The Welshman’s contract runs out in 2018
  • His form has improved in the last few months

Ramsey was one of several players to express their happiness at Arsene Wenger signing a new two year contract, but there’s been little talk about his own contract.

Arsenal have one too many players with contracts expiring in 12 months time. Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are the most high profile, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs are also entering their final years. Ramsey is yet another player with just a year to go.

Arsenal are keen to renew. Despite a plethora of injuries in recent seasons, Wenger always makes an effort to get Ramsey into his team. He’s also benefited from the change of formation and found form again in the final months of the season, capping everything off with another FA Cup final winning goal.

Ramsey, though, has expressed an interest in playing abroad and may see this as an opportunity for a new challenge. Being a homegrown player, there’s bound to plenty of domestic interest in him as well.

The 26-year-old enters his ninth season with the club and will be hoping he can stay fit enough next season to continue his good form.
