West Ham have become the favourites to sign Jack Wilshere.

  • Wilshere could be leaving Arsenal this summer
  • Jack was a Hammers fan growing up

Slaven Bilic is reportedly looking for a technically gifted midfielder and has identified Wilshere as that player.

According to reports, West Ham are now the odds-on favourite to sign the England international, beating out Bournemouth, where Wilshere spent last season on loan.

Huddersfield Town have also been given good odds, as the newly promoted look to strengthen their squad for their first season in the Premier League.

Wilshere’s Arsenal future is in serious doubt after an underwhelming loan spell at Bournemouth last season.

He has 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered a new one.

He could be part of a large cull of squad players this summer so that Arsenal can make room on the wage bill for other signings.

One potential obstacle, however, is Wilshere’s injury record, which is said to be putting off potential buyers.

He may have to prove his fitness first, which could result in him either staying at Arsenal or going out on loan again.
